Pyogenic Spondylodiscitis Following Nonspinal Cesarean Section

Pyogenic spondylodiscitis is an uncommon bacterial infection of the intervertebral disc and vertebral endplates. It usually affects elderly patients with comorbidities but may be also seen after surgical procedures in young patients, mostly spinal interventions genitourinary procedures. This article describes a rare case pyogenic female patient cesarean section without anesthesia. The presented three-month history lower back pain, inflammatory markers were elevated. magnetic resonance imaging showed involvement L5-S1 space adjacent bodies. diagnosis was confirmed needle aspiration purulent material. treated antibiotics for total six weeks. After follow-up about one year, slight degenerative changes no signs residual infection. highlights importance early recognition as cause postoperative pain urogenital procedures, even Only few similar cases reported literature.
